Community Dental Health (CDH)
Journal Descriptions
Community Dental Health is a peer‑reviewed international journal dedicated to scientific research and scholarly discussion in the field of dental public health. Established in 1984, the journal serves as the official publication for both the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry and the European Association of Dental Public Health, and is now published by SAGE Publications Ltd. The central aim of Community Dental Health is to advance understanding of oral disease prevention, oral health promotion, and community‑oriented dental practices that improve overall population health. Its scope encompasses a broad range of topics including oral epidemiology, oral health services research, preventive strategies for oral disease, oral health education and promotion, behavioural sciences related to dentistry, quality of life assessments, risk analysis, ethics and oral health economics, and quality assessment methods. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, discussion pieces, and editorials that are relevant to clinicians, public health professionals, educators, policymakers, and researchers involved in reducing oral health inequalities worldwide. It also provides a forum for international dialogue on challenges and innovations in dental public health, with an audience spanning academic, clinical, and policy domains. Indexed in major databases including MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science’s Science Citation Index Expanded, Community Dental Health contributes significantly to the evidence base guiding community‑based oral health interventions and policies.
