Journal Descriptions

Colorectal cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality, particularly in the developed world. Risk factors for colorectal cancer are increasing globally due to aging populations, rising alcohol consumption, obesity, and diabetes. The incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer is rising globally and has become a public health issue. National screening programs are helping to detect cancer while it is still curable; however, colorectal cancer remains the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the USA and options are still limited for those with more advanced disease. Consequently, colorectal cancer is a major research priority for governments, epidemiologists, oncologists, cancer research, pharmaceutical companies and non-profit organizations. Research on detection, prevention, diagnosis, and more effective therapies is progressing rapidly, with breakthroughs emerging daily. Colorectal Cancer is an Open-access peer-reviewed journal that provides novel insights into development, prevention, cancer biology and treatments by offering reviews, analysis and commentary on all aspects of colorectal cancer. The journal is ideal for the busy clinician or healthcare professional who requires a concise, readable overview of current and future management options in this fast-moving field.
