Cités (Cités)
Journal Descriptions
Cités takes up the challenge of reorienting political philosophy towards contemporary debates, while retaining its indispensable roots in the history of thought. The journal's intellectual ambition is to combine a return to reality with an openness to the possible. By returning to reality, we strive to describe and analyze social, political and economic facts in their harshest and most irreducible light. The work of analysis will therefore be risky, in areas that philosophers are generally reluctant to explore. By opening up to the possible, we show how things could or should be otherwise. Faced with real history, we bring in the critical dimension of the possible. The magazine strives to reconcile two requirements: rigorous analytical work and clear writing. One of its main features is real multidisciplinarity: that which is achieved in the work of the concept. It is broadly open to contemporary debates and to all those who animate them. Issues are multi-thematic (with a main theme). The journal's structure includes several sections: testimonies, debates, criticism of political discourse, analysis of significant events, current research, reviews, political bibliography.
