Journal Descriptions
The Canadian Journal of School Psychology (CJSP) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that provides an international forum for cutting-edge research, theory, and practice in school and educational psychology. First published in 1985, CJSP publishes original empirical studies, applied research, practice-oriented articles, test and book reviews, and methodological innovations that inform the cognitive, academic, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth within educational contexts. Published quarterly by SAGE Publications, CJSP offers a Canadian perspective on key issues facing school psychologists, while also welcoming contributions reflective of international contexts and diverse educational environments. Its multidisciplinary scope includes topics such as evidence-based assessment and intervention practices, resiliency and wellness programs, diversity and cultural considerations in school psychology, inclusion and special education, mental health supports in schools, and contemporary challenges such as trauma-informed practice and equity in educational access. The journal is aimed at practitioners, researchers, trainers, and graduate students in school psychology, educational psychology, and allied professions. CJSP’s commitment to bridging research and practice makes it a key reference for professionals designing interventions, shaping policy, or implementing evidence-based strategies that enhance learning and psychological outcomes for children and adolescents. The journal accepts articles in both English and French, reflecting its Canadian roots and multicultural ethos.
