Canadian Journal of Economics (CJE)
Journal Descriptions
The Canadian Journal of Economics / Revue canadienne d’économique is a quarterly scholarly journal published on behalf of the Canadian Economics Association (CEA) by Wiley-Blackwell. Since its establishment in 1967 (following the split of the Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science), it has developed into Canada’s leading outlet for economic research that is both internationally respected and rooted in topics of relevance to the Canadian economy and policy. The journal welcomes submissions across the entire spectrum of economic inquiry — from theoretical models and empirical studies to policy-oriented research — and it has become a respected venue for work that advances understanding in fields such as labor economics, macroeconomic policy, international trade, econometrics, and economic growth. Each year, the journal publishes approximately 50 high-quality articles selected through rigorous peer review, reflecting both general interest contributions and research that addresses key economic questions facing Canada and the world. The Canadian Journal of Economics also features the annual Presidential Address and Innis Lecture from the Canadian Economics Association’s meetings, recognising outstanding contributions to the discipline. It aims to maintain international standing while serving the CEA’s mission to support economic scholarship and informed discussion.
