Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (CALICO) is a leading international research organization in the field of computer assisted language learning (CALL), founded in 1983. Our main focus is research and development in the use of computer technologies and applications (such as artificial intelligence, multimedia, virtual reality, and games) for second and foreign language learning and teaching. At our annual conference and other events, we bring together an interdisciplinary community of language educators, language acquisition researchers, teacher trainers, educational technologists, instructional designers, programmers, language center directors, and anyone else interested in exploring and advancing the use of computer technology in language learning and teaching.
