Cahiers d'histoire russe, est-européenne, caucasienne et centrasiatique (CHREECC)
Journal Descriptions
Cahiers d'histoire russe, est-européenne, caucasienne et centrasiatique (CHREECC) is an international journal published quarterly by EHESS. In French, Russian and English, it explores the political, social, economic and cultural history of the societies concerned, as well as their relations with imperial centers and the world. As of January 1, 2024, Cahiers du monde russe becomes Cahiers d'histoire russe, est-européenne, caucasienne et centrasiatique. An interdisciplinary journal, Cahiers du monde russe covers the political, social, economic and cultural (especially literary) history of the Russian Empire from its origins to 1917, then of the USSR and finally of the various states that emerged from it. At present, a great deal of attention is devoted to the study of power practices during the Soviet period. The emphasis is on studies based on newly accessible archives. One of the journal's original features is the emphasis placed on the study of the Empire and the USSR in their national, religious and cultural dimensions. Nearly a third of the articles are devoted to specific areas of the former USSR: the Caucasus, Central Asia, Tatarstan and Crimea... Articles and reviews are published in French, Russian or English. The magazine benefits from an active network of correspondents in France and abroad. Each year's latest issue devotes a large section to a review of international scientific production.
