The Bulletin de la Société Américaine de Philosophie de Langue Française was established in 1989 as a forum for discussion of the diverse philosophical strains of French thought in all historical periods, with an emphasis on contemporary issues and a commitment to interdisciplinary perspectives. In 2006 the title of the journal was changed to the Journal of French Philosophy: Bulletin de la Société Américaine de Philosophie de Langue Française to help it reach a broader audience. It has continued publication as the Journal of French and Francophone Philosophy. Founded in 1989 by Colette Michael, the Bulletin de la Société Américaine de Philosophie de Langue Française (Bulletin of the American Society for Philosophy in the French Language) is a forum for discussion of the diverse philosophical strains of French thought in all historical periods, with an emphasis on contemporary figures and issues and a commitment to interdisciplinary perspectives. The Bulletin (ISSN-1040-6833) is a peer-reviewed journal, published twice yearly, indexed in both the Philosopher’s Index and the MLA International Bibliography. In 2006, the title of the journal was changed to Journal of French Philosophy: Bulletin de la Société Américaine de Philosophie de Langue Française.
