Journal Descriptions

The Botswana Journal of Technology (BJT) is a peer‑reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing research in engineering and technology disciplines. Established several decades ago, the journal provides a platform for original research articles, case studies, and technical developments addressing technological challenges and innovations, with relevance to Botswana and southern Africa as well as the global engineering community. BJT issues are published biannually, offering a rigorous double‑blind review process under the editorial oversight of senior academics from the University of Botswana’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Although its primary identifier is ISSN 1019‑1593, the journal is indexed and abstracted in resources such as African Journals Online (AJOL) and Chemical Abstracts, contributing to its visibility in research communities. The journal’s subject scope spans civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, and general technology research, aiming to bridge academic inquiry and practical engineering applications. Submissions are welcomed from researchers, technologists, and practitioners seeking to disseminate innovative work. The editorial office, led by Prof. M. T. Oladiran with support from Prof. A. B. Ngowi as Reviews Editor, handles editorial and subscription communications. The journal’s affiliation with the University of Botswana ensures academic credibility and support for scholarly exchange in technology and engineering fields.
