Biomedicine & Preventive Nutrition (B&PN)
Journal Descriptions
Biomedicine & Preventive Nutrition was an interdisciplinary scientific journal published by Elsevier that emphasized research at the interface of nutritional science and preventive health. Its core aim was to disseminate peer‑reviewed evidence on how dietary components, nutrient status and nutritional interventions influence health and the risk of major diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, metabolic disorders and chronic inflammatory conditions. The journal welcomed a broad range of contributions, including clinical investigations, experimental nutritional studies, review articles, and correspondence exploring mechanisms by which nutrients, functional foods, antioxidants and lifestyle factors exert preventive or protective effects on biological systems. Originally launched in 2011 with a goal to bridge biomedicine and nutrition for preventive strategies, it provided insights into dietary modulation of immune function, metabolic regulation, oxidative stress, and nutritional influences on disease progression and aging. Although its publication run appears to have concluded around 2014, archived issues remain accessible through academic databases and reflect evolving research on the role of nutrition in promoting health and preventing disease. Its interdisciplinary content was relevant to nutritionists, clinicians, biomedical researchers and public health professionals interested in nutrition’s role in disease prevention and health promotion.
