Asian Journal of Comparative Politics (AJCP)
Journal Descriptions
The Asian Journal of Comparative Politics (AJCP) is a peer-reviewed academic journal established in 2016 that serves as a premier forum for scholars of comparative political science with a special emphasis on Asian contexts and cases. The journal seeks to broaden understanding of political systems, institutions, processes, and behaviours across Asian countries and in comparison with other world regions. It publishes high-quality original research articles, theoretical essays, and empirically grounded studies that contribute to the development of comparative political theory and methodology while foregrounding the diversity and complexity of Asian political dynamics. Topics span electoral politics, party systems, governance, authoritarianism and democratization, state-society relations, political culture, institutional design, policy processes, foreign policy, and globalization — offering insights into both national and cross-national political phenomena. AJCP also encourages interdisciplinary dialogue linking political science with sociology, economics, history, law, and development studies to deepen analytical perspectives. By championing rigorous comparative research grounded in Asian realities, the journal supports scholarly exchange among academics, students, and policy practitioners interested in understanding political transformation, resilience, and innovation in one of the world’s most dynamic and geopolitically significant regions.
