Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIIE)
Journal Descriptions
Artificial Intelligence in Education, an open access, peer reviewed journal seeks to publish articles from original research studies on topics relating to the applications of AI at any stage of education and from either a disciplinary or interdisciplinary perspective. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionised education by enhancing personalised learning experiences, automating administrative tasks, and providing data-driven insights. In and out of classrooms, AI-powered tools adapt content to individual student needs, offering adaptive tutoring and other innovations in educational technology integration. Examples include, but are not limited to, differentiated teaching and learning, tailored exercises, and intelligent feedback. Moreover, AI assists educators in managing administrative workloads, optimising schedules, and identifying at-risk students. AI has the potential to support equity and to humanize classroom learning in ways that are critical and culturally relevant. As we continue to explore the intersection of AI and education and leverage the benefits, ethical considerations, transparency, and equity remain critical areas of focus. Areas of improvement • Curriculum design • Assessment design • Humanizing approaches to pedagogy • Tool-specific educational technology integrations • Culturally relevant and sustaining applications • Critical perspectives of AI, education, and equity • Inclusive student support services • Innovative pedagogical approaches • Education leadership, e.g., school/institutional level policy marking • Business processes streamlining • DEI/EDI (including decolonisation) • Particular student groups (international, mature, part-time, etc.)
