Ars Judaica is an annual publication of the Department of Jewish Art at Bar-Ilan University. It showcases the Jewish contribution to the visual arts and architecture from antiquity to the present from a variety of perspectives, including history, iconography, semiotics, psychology, sociology, and folklore. As such it is a valuable resource for art historians, collectors, curators, and all those interested in the visual arts. Ars Judaica: The Bar-Ilan Journal of Jewish Art is an annual peer-reviewed publication of the Department of Jewish Art at Bar-Ilan University and Liverpool University Press. Ars Judaica publishes scholarly research concerning Jewish visual culture through the ages from a variety of perspectives including history, iconography, semiotics, psychology, sociology, phenomenology, and folklore. We also publish research regarding Jewish contribution to other visual traditions and promote the studies of Jewish art in its interaction with surrounding cultures. The journal operates a double-blind system of peer review. Manuscripts may be returned to authors for revisions. A digital file of the edited version will be returned to authors for proofreading, clarification, and approval prior to typesetting.
