Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions (ASSR)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1956 under the aegis of the CNRS, Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions is now published by Éditions de l'EHESS. The journal has three objectives: to promote a comparative perspective, extended to all religions and cultural areas; to foster cooperation between all the social sciences in order to shed light on the many facets of the religious phenomenon; to welcome the presentation of methodological and theoretical reflections on the objects of research. The effervescence of current religious events and the globalization of forms of religiosity are leading the social sciences, more than ever, to question their disciplinary boundaries and put their paradigms of the religious phenomenon to the test. Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions alternates between thematic issues and bibliographical syntheses. It welcomes - in French, English and Spanish - articles reflecting the most advanced research in this field, both in France and abroad.
