Annales Médico-psychologiques, revue psychiatrique (AMPRP)
Journal Descriptions
Annales Médico-psychologiques, revue psychiatrique is a historic and influential French medical journal dedicated to the field of psychiatry and clinical psychopathology. Founded in 1843, it is one of the world’s oldest continuously published psychiatric periodicals and serves as the official bulletin of the Société médico-psychologique, the seminal French psychiatric society. The journal publishes original research articles, clinical and theoretical reviews, diagnostic and therapeutic studies, forensic psychiatry reports, and commentary on societal and cultural aspects of mental health. Its content bridges clinical practice and academic inquiry, reflecting developments in psychiatric theory, neurobiology, psychotherapy, and mental health policy. Issues are produced ten times per year, providing a steady forum for contributions from academic psychiatrists, clinicians, and researchers — particularly from the francophone world. The journal also includes reports of presentations and discussions held during the society’s meetings, book and film analyses, and summaries of international psychiatric symposia. By disseminating high-quality clinical and scientific work in French with English abstracts, Annales Médico-psychologiques fosters international exchange of psychiatric knowledge while preserving a distinct francophone scholarly tradition in mental health research.
