Journal Descriptions

Official Journal of the Potato Association of America (PAA), the AJPR publishes reports of basic and applied research on potato (Solanum spp.). Topics of Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Botany and Cultivar Description are the focal point of discussions in the journal. Topics can cover new developments in potato science, including biotechnology, precision agriculture, precision phenotyping, climate change adaptation and sustainability, organic and regenerative farming, crop-livestock interactions, genetic resources conservation of potato varieties, cultivar description, plant stress and abiotic disorders, crop physiology, breeding and genetics, extension, production and management (including but not limited to fertilizer and nutrient management, irrigation and water management, plant population studies, weed science and management, soil amendments and soil management, as well as plating and harvest dates), disease and pest research (including but not limited to crop protection), economics, certification and marketing. There are three general categories of publication: (1) full-length articles describing original scientific research in the form of a regular publication; (2) short communications concisely describing poignant and timely research results (3) review papers, book reviews and symposium proceedings.
