Ambio (Ambio)
Journal Descriptions
Ambio is owned by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and was founded in 1972, following the first UN conference on the environment. Ambio publishes research for a global audience on the interrelationships between environment and society with focus on both the natural and the social dimension of sustainability challenges. It is Ambio’s ambition to publish research that speaks to an inter- and transdisciplinary audience within and beyond academia. Publications may lean more heavily on either natural or social sciences, but Ambio articles require a focus on the link between environment and society. Original contributions can be submitted to Ambio as Research articles, Reviews, Perspectives, News, or Comments. The five categories offer complementary options for presenting novel results and ideas. Authors are advised to check the Ambio Instructions for Authors under Submission guidelines as these are updated regularly. Please also check out Collections and calls for papers to find our Special Issues and Topical Collections.
