Aircraft Design (AD)
Journal Descriptions
Aircraft Design served as a specialized forum for research in aircraft conceptualization, design methodology, optimization, analysis, and applications of advanced aerospace systems. The scope included aerodynamic analysis, structural layout, weight estimation, performance prediction, stability and control, systems integration, and design tools and methods. Articles typically combined theoretical models, computational strategies, and case studies relevant to civil, military, and unmanned aircraft, reflecting evolving industry needs and design innovations of the late 1990s. The journal aimed to bridge academic research with practical aircraft engineering challenges and was distinctive for its focus on the integrative process of creating aircraft from requirements to configuration synthesis. Despite its relevance, the niche audience and subscription model limited its growth, leading to discontinuation after four volumes.
