African Environment (AE)

African Environment is an environmental studies and regional planning bulletin that historically served as a platform for research, policy analysis, and discussion on environmental issues affecting Africa. The publication was produced under the auspices of ENDA‑Editions (Environmental Action in the Third World) based in Dakar, Senegal, and it was published in English, French and occasionally Arabic with contributions relevant to sustainable development, ecological planning, and environmental management in African countries. Each edition typically comprised multiple articles, reports and reviews addressing topics such as pollution control, land and water resource management, environmental education, and regional planning frameworks reflecting African socio‑ecological realities. Although not widely listed in contemporary international indexing databases with an online ISSN, African Environment is catalogued in international bibliographic records with ISSN 0850‑8518 and carries historical significance in African environmental scholarship. Editors were drawn from environmental organisations and research institutions, reflecting a multidisciplinary advisory board focused on environmental studies in the context of development
