Journal Descriptions

Aerobiologia, the International Journal of Aerobiology, is an interdisciplinary platform for the publication of aerobiological studies that explore interactions between the atmosphere and other parts of the earth system (i.e., the biosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere/pedosphere), as well as the influence of anthropogenic activities on these components. Aerobiology is the study of organisms and particles of biological origin passively transported in the air (bioaerosols), and concerns their sources, release, dispersal, deposition, impact on living organisms and materials, as well as the effects of environmental conditions on each of these processes. Aerobiological research includes airborne algae, bacteria, fungi (spores and hyphal fragments), plants (such as pollen, fern and bryophyte spores, plant fragments, and debris), protozoa, and viruses in both indoor and outdoor environments.
