Journal Descriptions

Advances in Neuroimmunology refers to a body of scholarly work that historically focused on emerging research in neuroimmunology — the interdisciplinary field exploring interactions between the nervous system and the immune system (e.g., immune signaling within the brain, neuroinflammation, glial immunomodulation, cytokine-mediated neural effects, and immune contributions to neurological diseases). Through original studies and reviews, it covered topics such as neuroimmune effects on synaptic plasticity, roles of cytokines in neuropathology, glial activation in response to injury or substance exposure, and mechanisms linking immune responses with neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), and traumatic brain injury. While early issues carried traditional ISSNs (0960-5428 print, 1878-0903 electronic) under Elsevier, consistent publication history and current editorial oversight are not maintained as an active journal today. Content under this title has also appeared as special issues in larger peer-reviewed journals, indicating its thematic relevance rather than a separate ongoing publication.
