Journal Descriptions
Advances in Medical Sciences is a biannual, peer-reviewed international journal focusing on key developments in medical sciences and translational research. The journal publishes original research and expert review articles that span clinical and life sciences, aiming to enhance understanding of disease processes, diagnostic techniques, therapeutic strategies, and fundamental biological mechanisms. First published as part of a Polish medical academy journal in 1955, it adopted its current title in 2006 and has since been issued twice a year, with editions appearing in March and September. With Print ISSN 1896-1126 and E-ISSN 1898-4002, it is indexed in major databases and distributed globally via Elsevier’s ScienceDirect platform. Under Prof. Jacek Nikliński (Medical University of Białystok) and an international editorial board, the journal covers broad areas of medicine including internal medicine, pathology, oncology, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, cardiovascular medicine, and other specialties. Articles emphasize advances that bridge laboratory research with clinical practice, contributing to improvements in patient care, diagnostics, and therapeutic innovation. Its official association with the Medical University of Białystok and partnership with Elsevier facilitates rigorous peer review, international visibility, and academic impact in the global medical research community.
