Journal Descriptions

Adolescent Medicine was a peer reviewed medical review journal dedicated to healthcare issues affecting adolescents and young adults. Published as part of the “State of the Art Reviews” series, the journal focused on current clinical developments, preventive healthcare, psychosocial medicine, and multidisciplinary approaches to adolescent wellbeing. It served pediatricians, adolescent medicine specialists, psychiatrists, nurses, educators, and healthcare professionals involved in adolescent healthcare services. The journal published comprehensive review articles addressing major medical and behavioral issues in adolescents, including mental health, eating disorders, reproductive health, substance abuse, infectious diseases, adolescent psychiatry, nutrition, chronic illness management, and preventive medicine. It emphasized practical clinical guidance and evidence based healthcare approaches for adolescent populations. The publication later evolved into Adolescent Medicine Clinics in 2004 and subsequently into Adolescent Medicine: State of the Art Reviews (AM:STARs). The journal was indexed in MEDLINE and other biomedical databases, making it a recognized source in pediatric and adolescent healthcare literature.
