Journal Descriptions

Since its inception in 1981, Activities, Adaptation & Aging (AAA) has established itself as one of the leading and oldest double anonymized peer-reviewed international journals within the field of gerontology. AAA strives to be a premier journal in which to both publish and discover innovative, provocative, and rigorous research regarding the implications of various activities on older adults’ quality of life. AAA seeks to lead with a collection of insightful research and thought leadership to promote culture change/transformation and pragmatic innovations for healthy aging. Transforming institutional culture is needed in all settings where older adults reside. Both the field of gerontology and the places where people work, but more importantly where older adults also live, need a strong push toward normalcy. This journal stands for a new concept that each older adult ages in a place of choice and thus strives to highlight pragmatic solutions developed to enable older adults to live with purpose and dignity, resonating with the needs and preferences, voices, and choices of older adults.
