Journal Descriptions

Acta Pathologica et Microbiologica Scandinavica was a highly influential Scandinavian peer reviewed medical journal focusing on pathology, microbiology, immunology, and laboratory medicine. Established in 1924, the journal became an important platform for publishing biomedical research from Scandinavia and the international scientific community. The journal published original research articles, clinical studies, experimental investigations, and review papers covering histopathology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunopathology, infectious diseases, and molecular microbiology. It contributed significantly to advancements in diagnostic pathology, microbial sciences, and immunological research during the twentieth century. Due to the expansion of biomedical sciences, the journal was later divided into specialized sections to better address distinct research fields. These sections became widely cited in international medical literature and were indexed in major scientific databases including MEDLINE and Index Medicus. The journal played an essential role in strengthening collaboration among Scandinavian medical researchers and healthcare institutions.
