Acta Oecologica (AO)
Journal Descriptions
Acta Oecologica (abbreviated Acta Oecol.) is a peer‑reviewed international scientific journal dedicated to advancing research in ecology and related environmental sciences. It provides an academic forum for high‑quality original research articles and review papers that deepen understanding of ecological systems, relationships among organisms, their environments, and the processes that shape biodiversity and ecosystems at different spatial and temporal scales. Topics include ecosystem ecology, community ecology, population ecology, conservation ecology, evolutionary ecology, and interdisciplinary studies that link ecology with environmental science and landscape conservation. There is no taxonomic, biome, or geographic bias, and both theoretical and empirical studies are welcome. The journal also includes a forum section for short critical discussions and viewpoints on key issues in contemporary ecology.
