Acta Histochemica (AH)
Journal Descriptions
Acta Histochemica is a peer‑reviewed scientific journal dedicated to structural biochemistry, histochemistry, cytochemistry, and cell/tissue imaging. Its main focus is on research that advances understanding of the structure, function, and molecular organization of cells and tissues, particularly through methods that reveal biochemical and histological dynamics under physiological and pathological conditions. The journal publishes original research articles, short communications, comprehensive reviews, letters to the editor, and meeting reports that describe novel findings in cell biology, histochemistry, immunocytochemistry, biotechnology, neurobiology, pathology, pharmacology, and related disciplines. The scope includes studies that combine advanced microscopy, image analysis, cytometric techniques, and molecular markers to elucidate cellular processes, biochemical pathways, structural tissue changes, and molecular interactions at microscopic and ultrastructural levels. In addition to fundamental research, Acta Histochemica welcomes methodological innovations that improve visualization and quantification of cellular components. Because of its methodological breadth, the journal serves academic researchers, imaging specialists, cellular biologists, pathologists, immunologists, pharmacologists, and other life‑science professionals. Through rapid peer review and regular monthly issues, it provides a global forum for sharing significant advancements in histochemical science.
