Journal Descriptions

Acta Dermatologica-Kyoto was a Japanese scientific journal dedicated to dermatology and venereology research. Published by Kyoto University, the journal served as an academic platform for studies related to skin diseases, dermatopathology, immunodermatology, and clinical dermatological treatment. It included original research papers, clinical observations, case studies, and experimental investigations focusing on both common and rare skin disorders. The journal contributed significantly to the development of dermatological science in Japan during the twentieth century and supported the international exchange of medical research in skin biology and disease management. Topics published in the journal included eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, allergic skin diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, and skin immunology. It also addressed advances in diagnostic pathology and therapeutic methods in dermatological practice. Acta Dermatologica-Kyoto became recognized among regional and international dermatology publications for documenting clinical experiences and academic research from Japanese medical institutions. Historical bibliographic records indicate that the journal was active for several decades and was cited in dermatological and medical indexing services. The publication reflected the growing importance of dermatology as a specialized branch of medicine and contributed to scientific communication between researchers and clinicians in Asia and other parts of the world.
