Acta Chemica Scandinavica (ACS)
Journal Descriptions
Acta Chemica Scandinavica was a highly respected peer reviewed scientific journal dedicated to chemical sciences and multidisciplinary chemistry research. Established in 1947 through collaboration among the Nordic chemical societies, the journal became an important platform for publishing original research articles, short communications, and review papers in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry. The publication was created to support Nordic scientists in disseminating internationally recognized chemical research after World War II. Over time, the journal gained global academic recognition for its rigorous scientific standards and broad coverage of chemical disciplines. From 1974 onward, the journal was divided into Series A for physical and inorganic chemistry and Series B for organic chemistry and biochemistry. It later continued in combined formats until publication ceased in 1999 after integration with Royal Society of Chemistry journals. The complete archive remains an important historical resource for chemistry researchers and scientific institutions worldwide.
