Journal Descriptions

Acta Bioethica is a scholarly journal dedicated to the study and analysis of ethical issues arising in medicine, healthcare, biotechnology, and the life sciences. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, physicians, philosophers, legal scholars, and public health experts to discuss ethical challenges associated with scientific and medical advancement. Its scope includes clinical ethics, research ethics, environmental ethics, public health policy, human rights, end-of-life care, genetics, reproductive ethics, and the social implications of emerging biomedical technologies. The journal encourages dialogue between different academic traditions and cultural perspectives, especially within Latin America, while maintaining an international orientation. It publishes original research articles, critical essays, theoretical analyses, case discussions, and review papers that contribute to the development of ethical reflection in healthcare and society. The publication also supports the integration of ethical principles into medical education and public policy decision-making. Through its interdisciplinary approach, Acta Bioethica has become an important resource for scholars and professionals interested in the ethical dimensions of science and medicine, particularly in Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking academic communities.
