Journal Descriptions

Acta Anaesthesiologica Italica was a peer-reviewed medical journal published in Italy from 1972 to 1995. It focused on clinical and scientific research in anaesthesiology, intensive care medicine, pain management, and perioperative care. The journal served as an important platform for Italian and European anaesthesiologists to publish original research articles, clinical studies, case reports, and review papers related to surgical anaesthesia techniques and critical care practices. Published quarterly by Editrice “La Garangola” in Padova, Italy, the journal contributed significantly to the development of anaesthetic science during its active years. It was often published in both Italian and English, with summaries provided in English to reach a broader international audience. In its later years, the journal was merged with related publications such as Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Italy, reflecting consolidation in the field of medical publishing. Although it is no longer active, its archived articles remain valuable for historical and academic reference in anaesthesia research. The journal played a role in documenting advancements in perioperative medicine and helped disseminate European clinical practices in anaesthesia during the late 20th century.
