ACM SIGMOBILE Mobile Computing and Communications Review (SMCCR)
Journal Descriptions
Mobile Computing and Communications Review (MC2R), currently known as GetMobile, is a quarterly scholarly publication produced by ACM SIGMOBILE and published under the Association for Computing Machinery. Since its inception in 1997, this journal/newsletter hybrid has bridged the gap between rigorous research dissemination and community‑focused technical communication in the field of mobile computing and wireless networking. With a mission to support both researchers and practitioners, it presents a diverse mix of peer‑reviewed technical papers, emerging research insights, and community news statements covering mobile systems architectures, wireless protocols, mobile applications, performance evaluations, and standards developments. Published four times per year, its content also includes conference and workshop summaries, opinion columns, and reports on international standards relevant to mobile and wireless communications. By blending scientific depth with practical relevance, the journal fosters dialogue across academia and industry, significantly contributing to the evolution of mobile computing as a vibrant research discipline. GetMobile’s format encourages dissemination of both completed and ongoing work, providing timely perspectives to a global audience of researchers, professionals, and students engaged in the advancement of mobile technologies and systems.
