ACM SIGITE Newsletter (SN)
Journal Descriptions
The ACM SIGITE Newsletter is the key newsletter communication for the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Information Technology Education (SIGITE). First appearing in 2004, the newsletter provides members and the wider IT education community with updates on SIGITE activities, annual conference reports, curricular developments, calls for participation, and member news. It is published twice a year and distributed electronically through the SIGITE website and email lists. The newsletter’s content spans society news, insights into trends in IT education, highlights of the SIGITE/RIIT (Research in IT) conferences, reports from IT educators around the world, and information about ACM SIGITE’s initiatives — such as its IT model curriculum and accreditation discussions. Historically, earlier issues reflected evolving editorial leadership and engagement with the broader computing education community, balancing society activities with pedagogical topics. Although not a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, the newsletter remains an important communication channel for SIGITE members. It fosters collaboration, informs members about conference outcomes and educational research interests, and promotes networking among IT educators and practitioners. As of recent years, issues from 2019 and 2020 are available for download from the SIGITE website archives.
