Journal Descriptions

The ACM SIGICE Bulletin served as the flagship bulletin of the ACM Special Interest Group on Individual Computing Environments (SIGICE). SIGICE is a community within the Association for Computing Machinery dedicated to advancing understanding, development, and dissemination of knowledge around individual computing environments — covering software tools, programming environments, personal and group computing systems, and related technologies. The bulletin traditionally provided members with updates on SIG activities, announcements of workshops and events, summaries of discussions, and technical insights into computing environments. Issued as a quarterly bulletin, SIGICE Bulletin shared practical articles, member contributions, and summaries of ongoing trends and research relevant to individual computing setups and small group environments. While printed and online editions appeared historically, many of the issues from the mid-1990s are archived in academic library collections and the ACM Digital Library. The bulletin’s role was to foster community engagement, highlight innovations affecting computing environments, and act as a communication channel between SIGICE leadership and its members. As with many ACM SIG newsletters and bulletins, it was not a formal peer-reviewed research journal but an important record of SIGICE’s professional activities and technical interests.
