ACM SIGFORTH Newsletter (SN)

The ACM SIGFORTH Newsletter was the official quarterly publication of the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Forth (SIGForth), established in 1989 to support the global community of practitioners of the Forth programming language — a stack-based language known for its simplicity, extensibility, and use in embedded and real-time systems. The newsletter offered a mix of technical articles, implementation notes, user experiences, tool descriptions, and community announcements. Contributors typically included Forth language implementers, system builders, educators, and members of the SIGForth organization. Topics spanned language features and extensions, practical programming tips, performance optimization strategies, case reports from real-world projects using Forth, and summaries of workshops and SIGForth events.
