AAPS PharmSci (AAPS P)
Journal Descriptions
AAPS PharmSci was an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical science research. Published between 1999 and 2004 by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the journal served as an important platform for disseminating scientific knowledge in drug development, formulation science, pharmacokinetics, and biopharmaceutical research. It published original research articles, reviews, and technical communications contributed by scientists from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies. The journal emphasized innovative approaches in pharmaceutical technology, including drug delivery systems, stability studies, and molecular pharmaceutics. It played a significant role during a period when pharmaceutical sciences were rapidly evolving due to advances in biotechnology and computational drug design. Under the editorial leadership of Dr. Ho-Leung Fung, the journal maintained scientific rigor and international collaboration. In 2004, AAPS PharmSci was discontinued as part of a restructuring of AAPS publications. It was succeeded by modern journals such as The AAPS Journal and AAPS PharmSciTech, which continue to publish research in similar domains with broader scope and higher impact. Despite its discontinuation, AAPS PharmSci remains historically significant in the development of pharmaceutical science publishing.
