Considering the advancing needs of globalization, Amity School of Languages offers courses in English and other foreign languages such as French, Spanish and German; which not only enables the students to learn but enhance their communication skills. The school consists of qualified, dedicated and research-oriented faculty members who teach diverse aspects of Communication Skills in English and other foreign languages i.e. French, German and Spanish to the UG and PG students across the University.
BA (H) Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is a 3 year full time programme. For BA in Liberal Arts, you will get to choose your major from three major social sciences - economics, political science, and history – your minor can come from any of these subjects or from completely different fields like social work, fine arts, fashion technology, mass communication and animation.
The B.A. and B.A. (Hon.) courses differ from each other mainly in that the B.A. is spread equally over all areas of study prescribed in the syllabus, whereas the B.A.(Hon.) focuses on gaining in depth knowledge in a particular area, with other subsidiary areas. Honours students write research-based dissertations or long essays in the final stages of their studies.

The students would be trained to gain knowledge and analytical skills to understand the real implications of world events, policies and actions. They would also be made aware of the realities of the vulnerable sections of the society and make them committed to public welfare. The institute provides diverse opportunities for the students to engage in creative thinking, critical analysis, and hands on experience. The institute prepares students to pursue higher studies, take up rewarding jobs or become entrepreneurs.
The experiential learning methodology inspires students to deliberate, discuss, converse, contest, conceptualize, reinvent, transform, and create systems for well being of human civilization. Discussion and debates include plural, different and multiple viewpoints, perspectives, ideas, concepts, interpretations and thought processes.
The Institute of Liberal Arts offers: B.A. (Liberal Arts) (Honours / Research), B.A. Economics (Honours/Research), Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work. Just as B.A. is kept not only theoretically rigorous but also creative and hands-on, Social Work programs are grounded in not just social work theory and practice but also in detailed study of social science theories and policies. B.A. Economics students will get blended learning of theory and practical. All bachelor's programs have a component of rural exposure. The B.A. liberal arts students have the added benefit of getting a certificate in professional courses for starting a new venture. The students of all the programs of AILA will get exposure to research paper writing and field visits.
The inter-disciplinary approach of academic programs encourages students to strive to build an inclusive, egalitarian, and gender-sensitive space, where human values are upheld and dissent thrive without inhibition. Students of Liberal Arts programs grow as socially responsible and empowered citizens through active learning as well as participation in co-curricular activities.
