Journal Descriptions

Estudios de Derecho is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal founded in 2019 and published by the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia. It is one of the oldest law journals in Latin America and has played a significant role in promoting legal scholarship and interdisciplinary research for more than a century. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, essays, and book reviews that contribute to the study of law, political science, and related social sciences. It encourages critical and comparative perspectives on legal systems, constitutional development, human rights, criminal justice, civil law, administrative law, international law, and legal philosophy. The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research that examines the interaction between law, politics, economics, sociology, and public policy. Estudios de Derecho is published twice a year in both print and electronic formats and follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure high academic quality. It accepts manuscripts in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, expanding its international readership. The journal is indexed in major databases including Scopus, Web of Science ESCI, DOAJ, Latindex, REDIB, and Dialnet, enhancing its visibility and scholarly impact.
