Acta Endoscopica Polona (AEP)
Journal Descriptions
Acta Endoscopica Polona was a specialized Polish medical journal devoted to the fields of gastrointestinal endoscopy, surgical endoscopy, and endourology. The journal served as an academic platform for clinicians, surgeons, gastroenterologists, and medical researchers interested in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Published mainly in Poland during the 1990s, the journal focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques, digestive tract disorders, laparoscopic surgery, endoscopic imaging, and clinical case reports. The publication was associated with several important Polish medical organizations, including the Section of Surgical Endoscopy at the Society of Polish Surgeons, the Endoscopic Group at the Polish Gastroenterological Society, and the Section of Endourology at the Polish Urological Society. Articles were primarily published in Polish with English summaries, helping disseminate research findings from Central and Eastern Europe to a wider medical audience. The journal included original research papers, conference abstracts, clinical reviews, and technical reports related to advances in endoscopic medicine. It gained indexing in Scopus and other bibliographic databases during its active years. The publication contributed significantly to the development of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Poland during the early growth of endoscopic surgery.
