Acta Biologica Cracoviensia Series Zoologia (ABCSZ)
Journal Descriptions
Acta Biologica Cracoviensia Series Zoologia was an academic journal specializing in zoology and biological sciences related to animals and their environments. The journal published original scientific research articles, review papers, and short communications covering diverse fields such as animal physiology, morphology, taxonomy, genetics, developmental biology, ecology, and evolutionary studies. It encouraged experimental and observational research aimed at understanding the structure, function, behavior, and diversity of animal organisms. The publication contributed significantly to zoological science in Central Europe by promoting collaboration among university researchers, museum scientists, and biological institutes. Many studies focused on comparative zoology, ecological adaptation, reproductive biology, entomology, aquatic biology, and vertebrate and invertebrate systematics. The journal also supported interdisciplinary approaches linking zoology with environmental sciences, molecular biology, and conservation studies. As part of the respected “Acta Biologica Cracoviensia” scientific series, the journal helped disseminate biological research internationally during the twentieth century. Although publication activity later changed through restructuring of scientific periodicals, its historical contributions remain valuable within zoological and biodiversity research literature.
